Do You Like Mosaic Art? or Do You Like Dragons?

I love mosaic art. In high school, we had to study ancient Greece and Rome and as part of the study the teacher discussed mosaic art. One of our assignments was to create our own mosaic. I bought a kit from the store, created a picture and turned it in. Got a low grade because the teacher found out I had used a kit and she said it was not my original work of art. No biggie! My overall class grade was still good. One of my classmates really stole the show! Out of all the mosaics that were turned in, her artwork is the only one I still remember to this day! It was a dragon! My classmate had taken grains of white rice and dyed them different colors. She drew a picture of a dragon and painstakingly glued the dyed grains of rice in place to create the mosaic. Her original mosaic art was a masterpiece!! But?? But?? A dragon?? Did they even have dragons in Greek and Roman culture?? Isn't that … Chinese??!! Was looking through some Tumblr posts, came across a blog that focuses on Roman and Greek art, and guess what I found? A dragon!!
