Well, That Was a Surprise. And, Just in Time for the Fair

I got an envelope in the mail from my health insurance company last night and figured it was just a summary of what I owed following my physical last month. As it turns out, it was a check for $345. Apparently, they screwed something up, I overpaid for a doctor's appointment as a result and they were reimbursing me. It was a pretty cool surprise. And, the best part is the county fair is next week. I no longer have to "borrow" money from my savings account for that, I can just cash the check.

@srhelmer It's good to get reimbursed for over payment. Even though it's actually your own money I'm sure it's a good feeling to receive this money because you did not expect it..

Don't you love a nice envelope like that? Good thing you didn't just set it aside in a stack of insurance EOBs. That's wonderful, congratulations! I haven't been to a county fair in awhile. I do like them, but the problem is, it's been so hot I haven't wanted to be outdoors.I think the last time I went to a fair was the Sacramento one, the California State Fair. Really enjoyed that, although yes it was hot. I went to that quitte awhile ago, can't remember what year. Mostly what I remember from that one is the hypnotists' show. I started feeling a little drowsy when he was hypnotizing people, lol. Supposedly he did "accidently" hypnotize someone in the audience, but you never know if the person is a plant. So what's your favorite feature of the fairs?

It's a relatively small town so our fair is the place to be in August especially because of the the bands. We get four different ones every year, this year it's Montgomery Gentry, Brett Michaels, Granger Smith and Canaan Smith, and the show is included in the $7.50 ticket price. Of course, the best part for my wife and I is the food. I'm sure the deep fried baskets aren't good for us. But, man do they taste good.
