Article and Blog Sites, Please Share With Me

Years ago I was a big fan of Associated Content. I knew they would accept the vast majority of my articles and I could earn a reliable side income every month. I've been out of the loop for years now, though. Honestly there were so many distractions around the house here that I lost concentration and just wanted to click ads and do activities that didn't take much (or any) brain power. I saw someone mention Blogbourne. Can you count on a steady income from that? What are the good blog and article sites now that you can depend on for a little side income? I know myLot is reliable and stable. So I'd like some feedback on the blog and article sites that are established. Thanks you guys!

I am a veteran of AC. Instant post of articles and that sort of was it's downfall. Too much incoherent junk got published. Panda killed it. AC was a good site as was Helium and now such writing sites are basically extinct.

I know some people here still use Hubpages, but I haven't heard if they're really getting decent payment through it.

The only one I know was Hub Pages. Never put anything on that one.

It might be one that takes a long time to build a network. It would be nice to get paid per article rather than just views, but I suppose you need to be a professional writer to locate a site like that.

@CinnamonGrl From what I understand, you do need to build up a body of work and then keep it updated so it remains high in the search list

These days I publish the majority of my content that doesn't get used on my own sites on InfoBarrel. It's been around for quite some time now, and it's reasonably stable (if suffering at the moment a bit from neglect as the company has been occupied with other projects).

I was with A FOR years and when Yahoo bought them out, I was scared they would change a lot, but they didn't? If anything, my views went yp and my money jumprf from 200 a month to 400 a month. I missed them. Now I cannot write due to my illness. I stay fatigued all the timr,

I was thinking of returning to textbroker, i guess I could write when my mother is off visiting my dad. At other times there are just so many interruptions. It seems like AC had gone to Yahoo at about the same time my kids' dad (technically my husband but we'd been separated a long time) got cancer. My son and I went to help him out and I just didn't have the time. I had just gotten started with TV reviews and was doing really good. Life intervenes, you know that better than anybody, I am really sorry you are having to go through this. The loss of energy has to be a terrible blow.

@CinnamonGrl - Ms Sue - I truly wish that I could pass great knowledge of "paying" writers' websites along to you, but I know of only one that seemed to me to be both reliable as to demand for real articles and both honest and timely as to payment for them. It was and still is "Textbroker." They provide a scale for writers to weigh in on, and most get from about "2" to "4." That sets the pay per word. You have to write on things wanted to be written by the paying customers who supply the subject wanted, the article's desired length, and some key words to be used in the SEO sense in your articles. You have to do your own research and write good stuff in a good way. If you miss the customer's desired specs, you are advised of what you may have missed and permitted to repeat and do things better. If you put in the time and the effort, it is likely that you could earn a reasonable living with your writing there. You start at "2" and go on from there. I just write for the fun of it now, but if I wanted to go back to earning from writing, I would go to "Textbroker" to do so. None of this "like" stuff for 1/10 of a penny each and a hoped for 30 hits to make 3 cents per posting. Serious writing brings serious money. Posting fun stuff for pennies brings pennies and fun. Nothing wrong with the latter, but it is understandable that people have to eat and pay the rent as well as "interact" for grins. By the way, I have been on HubPages for years (as GusTheRedneck) and enjoy the challenge of writing for a demanding audience there - but if one or two people can earn their living by writing on HubPages, they must put in 12-hour days x 7 days a week to accomplish that. Not bragging, but I am a good writer, and if I earned $50 a year at my busiest over there, it was somewhat of a miracle. Enough of this ranting, right? So check out TextBroker and see if it fits. -Gus-

I did used to participate at Textbroker, and that is one I should go back to. My memory had faded about how it worked, but I was pleased with it at the time. I don't need to earn a living with this stuff, just some supplemental income. I live with my mother and pay rent to her, but someday I won't be in this situation and I will need more than my social security to live on. Thank you!

It is myLot as of now. But a good friend from several sites messaged me regarding Blogbourne asking me to join it. I was just thinking that it requires 400 words minimum, considering I am so lazy right now (not in the mood to write). But I think it is a reliable site. You can try it.

You know, I think I will. I know what you mean, you have to decide if you want to put that much into it. Which is why I wasn't seeking article sites for awhile myself.

There is Constant Content but they are very picky. I have a doctor friend who has been with them for 10 years. At first every thing she wrote was rejected but she kept submitting until they finally accepted her. She has clients now who ask for her and she gets tired because of deadlines and plus working as a doctor.

Many of us joined the site you mentioned and it seems to be good. Time will tell.

I've had some luck with HubPages, although I haven't put much time into it.
