I had been meaning to call my friend Alejandra since I returned from my vacations. But the arrangements for my grandson Diego to stay here have taken me a lot of my time. I have had to listen to all the several problems that my daughter had with Diego´s father and I had to give her advise because what he really wants is to bother her. Then I have had to listen to Lili´s problems with her mother. I cannot do much, but it seems that listeming to her helps her. She has no shoulder to cry on. Her husband and her daughter have been wonderful, but they are all stressed. So, Alejandra called me and we talked for over an hour. And we decided we must see each other. So, as Alejandra is not a very good cook, I told her to come on Wednesday and have lunch with me. She can bring the dessert. Do your friends offer you to bring something when you invite them?

I just asked Dixie to bring some vanella icecream. Umberto (my Humberto´s cousin will bring a carrot cake for dessert) and I thought I could add some icecream to it.

Unfortunately, I don't have any friends where we live now. We just moved in an apartment in March. I do have friends from when I worked and lived in another state. We keep in touch via phone calls and texts.

@marguicha I lived most of my life in my hometown with family and friends close by. When I moved in with my brother, I moved away. We have moved a lot of the past 6 years but it is because of my brother's job.

Sometimes my friends bring something to eat when they visit me in our house and that's nice.

We always do that in our batchmates meeting. We have agreement to bring anything as contribution for the snack or lunch. But its not a compulsory. Those who volunteer are much appreciated.

I agree. It is not an obligation, but it is nice when they do, no matter what.
