Coconut Oil Pulling??

United Kingdom

I know some of the benefits of coconut oil from my parents like applying it to your hair to keep it strong, and iv heard that applying a little to your eye bags helps greatly to remove any dark circles. Iv tried this and found that it does work, and you start to see differences after a week or so. But I'm not to sure of oil pulling, which is basically just swishing the coconut oil around in your mouth and spitting it out in the bin after approximately 10 minutes which helps detoxify teeth and gums and has the added effect of whitening teeth naturally. Iv heard mixed reviews and would like your opinion on this because I'm not sure about the whole idea of having oil in my mouth..

yes. I have tried it. it does help with whitening and detoxifying is a added benefit. I didn't think it was bad...but I only do it for 5 minutes. Try it...if you can take the taste of it.

I've heard of pulling. I don't think I could stand swishing it about in my mouth for a whole 10 minutes!

Well, it's supposed to be good to cook with. Not sure about using it like weird mouthwash though.

@Haffie34 I haven't either. I read about it, then saw some in TKMaxx a couple of days later. First time I'd seen it.

The idea of oil covering my teeth makes me cringe....reminds me of a time when my cousin told me to try biting into a cod liver oil capsule...I regretted it the moment I felt the capsule burst and cod liver oil covered teeth...no matter how much I rinsed my mouth, I could still taste it for hours....urgh _
