Hey everyone. Hope you are all having a wonderful day or night, whatever might be the case. Anyways, I was wondering out of the many (but really more like few) Grunge bands out there, that came out of the late 80's, and a bit more so, the early 90's, what would be your favourite of them? Could it possibly be Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots (if they counted?), Mother Love Bone, Candlebox (again, if they count... I have heard they were grunge but not sure), or someone else that I am not mentioning? I come to realize that there were actually quite a few grunge bands, I just do not want to mention all of them, and know I will still end up forgetting some!
Also, what is your opinion on the whole genre, and some of the different bands, if you will?

Most would say Nirvana but I prefer Pearl Jam. Eddie Vedder was a better vocalist than Kurt Cobain.

I'm a big grunge fan! It felt like the music talked to me on so many different levels. Of course, Nirvana is a favorite but my all time favorite grunge band would have to be Mudhoney.

That's awesome! Yes, I can relate to you there, man! Grunge is definitely one of my favourite genres, grunge and 90's alternative (both together lumped into one genre or seperated, either way they both are so great.. I love 90's music in general though, my favourite decade for music for sure). Yes, Nirvana is classic, but oh wow, Mudhoney is great too, very nice choice! I actually am shocked that I forgot to put them in my list, when mentioning Grunge bands.. But I just put a short example, nonetheless :) Anyways thanks for the feedback!

@mawdest feel free to talk about music anytime here in the site.
Grunge and basically alternative 90s music is what I grew up with.

@allen0187 Thank you, I appreciate that!
That's great, I kind of grew up with it as a teenager I suppose, just because my parents listened to it, and introduced me to it! But it wasn't a part of my generation, as I was only born in 1990, haha.

Grunge did wonders for punk rock also. Greenday, Rancid, Pennywise, NOFX, The Offspring, Bad Religion all give credit to Nirvana for kicking open the door for them.

I wasn't a fan of grunge, but I dig Soundgarden and Alice in Chains.

@mawdest - Indeed, it would be very boring if we all listened to the same thing.
