#7 in my Favorite One-Off Bands, or band's that only made one album series belongs to Seattle's Temple of the Dog.
Temple of the Dog was a grunge supergroup organized in 1990 by Soundgarden vocalist Chris Cornell. The band, in addition to Cornell, consisted of grunge stars Eddie Vedder, Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, Matt Cameron, and Mike McCready. The group formed in tribute to the late Mother Love Bone vocalist Andrew Wood, who had died of a heroin overdose.
The band's 1991self-titled record remains the band's only album. It's a Platinum album, both in the US and Canada.
Years ago, I spent a lot of time drinking 40's and watching MTV. It was always a treat when the video for "Hunger Strike" came on. None of us were particularly grunge fans, but for some reason, we had a fondness for Temple of the Dog. It was one grunge band we could all agree on.
Wikipedia hints at a possible 2016 reunion tour, so, unless it's already happened, keep your eyes peeled.

Well, they were a one-shot band, so it's understandable. They were pretty big over here.

Only one album? I guess they made that one album count!

They sure did. Maybe with a reunion tour they'll do another one.

I like that you listen, even if you don't like it!
