John Blake reports the news on Wednesday the Texas Rangers have placed right handed starting pitcher Lucas Harrell on the 15 day disabled list with a groin strain.
Harrell had been taken out of the second inning of the Rangers versus Oakland Athletics game played in Arlington Texas due to his injury to his groin.
The Rangers will replace Harrell on their 25 man active roster by calling up from their AAA minor league team the Round Rock Express right handed pitcher Nick Martinez on Wednesday.
It is not clear how long Harrell will out of the starting pitching rotation due to his recent groin injury.

Bad timing as the Rangers make their push for best record in the AL but they are probably more concerned about having Harrell healthy for the playoffs.
