I do not like heights. Thanks to a series of baby steps, I'm no longer paralyzed from fear when I'm in high places. But, I do still prefer to avoid them. However, since it was just my wife and me at the fair yesterday evening, I agreed to take a ride on the Ferris Wheel with her, on the condition she held my hand throughout. I survived and I'm proud of myself for doing it. But, I'm not planning on doing it again, at least not any more this year.

I guess you won't be going to the top of the Washington Monument.

I'm getting better about high, enclosed spaces (again, baby steps). Still working on everything else. I heard every little squeak and creak that Ferris wheel made while I was on it.

I was never afraid of heights - but as the years keep coming, I have gotten more and more afraid. Perhaps this is because I am not regularly in these "daring" situations anymore. When we went on vacation a few weeks ago, we went up a couple ski lifts . . . I was frozen in my seat. The last time we were on a ferris wheel I think I felt the very same way - that I SURVIVED.

I don't like heights and I don't like the Ferris Wheel. But for some reason I am okay on roller coasters! Something about how securely one is strapped in, I guess. Anyhow no more roller coasters as my body can't take the getting jostled so much!
