Do You Use Q & A Forums to Promote Your Blog?

So I've been going through lots of blogging tips for how to increase traffic to my blogs and keep coming across this particular tip. Advisers insist that Q & A (question and answer) forums like Quora, Yahoo Answers, Mosaichub, and Askville can be used to promote your blog and drive traffic.
I have an account with Quora and have visited Yahoo Answers a few times. But I was looking FOR answers. Not trying so much to link back to my blogs. Never heard of the other two.
As a blogger, have you ever used any Q & A forum to increase traffic to your blog?

Looking at your myLot profile, it doesn't look like you need a blog. We've both been here for a year and you are way more active than I am. I feel like I'm active but when I look at my profile, it's like I'm hardly doing anything here. But it's still a great site to be when I am signed in.
