Have You Ever Visited the Hoover Dam?

One of the FREE all-expense paid trips I earned for my sales and recruiting efforts was to Lake Tahoe. We also got to go on a tour of the Hoover Dam as well as riding down the Truckee River in a raft. I think I told you all about that scary adventure.
We got to go INSIDE the Dam and see all the hydroelectric works. It was all explained to us. Fascinating.
We also got to go on a Paddle boat ride on Lake Mead. That was very exciting to ride right up to the edge of the dam. We ate lunch on the boat and rode around the lake for a couple hours. It was an absolutely gorgeous day that day. The weather was perfect.
Then, my husband and I had made arrangements for his cousin to pick us up from the hotel at Lake Tahoe and take us to Phoenix, Arizona, where he and his wife lived, for a few days and we got to ride across the TOP of the dam.
Then, we flew home from Phoenix. The company I worked for made all the arrangements.
It was one of my favorite trips, except for the raft ride.

@IreneVincent The dam was a major project during the depression under FDR. Provided 100s employment.

@IreneVincent The dam was a miracle for desperate workers in a desperate time.

No, I've never had the pleasure of visiting Hoover Dam. Maybe one day when I realize my dream of retiring, getting an RV, and seeing the 12 states I haven't been to yet. (I have been to Arizona, but I was driving to L.A. on my way to transfer to Pearl Harbor, so I didn't have a lot of time to "sightsee.")

Perhaps you will get to go one day. I have 5 states that I have yet to visit, the northwest corner of the U.S, (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, North Dakota) and Minnesota. I've been to or through all the rest, even Alaska and Hawaii.
I don't travel much anymore though, so I seriously doubt if I will ever see those states. A lifetime isn't long enough to see the whole world. Not by a long shot. So, I'm thankful for what I have been able to see.
