My kids have gone back to school today

The dreaded day has arrived. I set the alarm for 6:30 am and again for the third time within a few days set it wrong. Thankfully I woke up at 6:38 am. I laid there and let my kids sleep until 6:45. My son was not happy about being woke up that early but it gave us just enough time to get ready and read for 5 minutes before having to head to the bus stop.
Both my kids were kind of skipping around and excited to go to school which I was shocked about. I hope they both have a wonderful day and come home in the same happy mood. I am one nervous mother.
I have been catching up on Crowdtap this morning and trying to catch up here at mylot. I have lots of other sites I need to catch up on as well as things to do offline too. One thing at a time.. and one day at a time. I will have lots of time on my hands now with my children at school. I miss them so much already.
At 9 am I went and watched my little nephew get on the bus and go off to his first day of pre-k.
I am making my daughters favorite for dinner tonight cheesy breadsticks. I am going to bake my kids some peanut butter cookies for a treat when they get home. I need to make my sons favorite food for school lunches .. anti-pasta salad.

My son came home miserable. We got started on the things he had to do like a sheet about his interests etc when the phone rang. It was his teacher. I guess he got upset easily over nothing really and was crying.
He told me that she thinks they are stupid telling them things they already know (the rules). I told him thats part of her job she jas to go over that the first day.
She had no idea of the emotional issues he has had the other years. Shes going to look at his history and hopefully get an idea of how he is. He is difficult.
The first 2 years he had a hard time adjusting the first two weeks but last year it lasted longer and happened more often. I am praying he will do okay this year. I am a wreck when he is at school.

@crazyhorseladycx yes I debate on it a lot but I'm not sure it would help him. He was so shy and clung to me I had to send him to school to help open him up a little. They always want to put him in therapy but I feel its not really helping so I'm hoping they don't suggest it this time.

I hope they have a great first day of school. Glad there were excited about going. It is always nice to them to see the friends that they haven't seen all summer. They will home soon enough and have so much to tell you!

It has not been since I was in kindergarten that they have gone to school this early. I am exhausted from not sleeping well and getting up early today. My son came home very upset and I got a call from the teacher so I cried a little after getting off the phone. My son always struggled emotionally when he returns to school. He cried a lot at school today.

I better get offline now and go make them so they will be ready. My oven makes my house super hot I'm not looking forward to that. It was a very chilly morning though. It was only about 45 I think. I'm not sure what the temperature is out now but it looks nice and sunny.

That is nice to do those things for your kids. Me I actually loved school. If I was a parent though... I would like the school year. It would give me some "me" time, while they were in classes.

I was hoping to go to Subway for lunch and find a geocache. I suggested it to my dad but he did not respond so he must not want to. I am so tired I already cannot wait for bed tonight. My kids will probably feel the same way when they get home. They were already tired before school and they went to bed about 9:30 pm. Usually they will go to bed at 8 pm but we were home later last night.

Anti-pasta salad? lol Sounds interesting! I hope your kids had a wonderful day at school! I think it's wonderful that you took that time to read with them. Even if it was only 5 minutes. :-)

So after your kids go to school today, you will have a lot of time doing your own business and some other work. You are a very nice mother to your kids, preparing to make some nice food for them to eat in the school and nice dinner at home. For sure they will be excited after seeing the delicious food when they come back home from school. Take your time.

I hate when they aren't home I miss them all day long and look forward to when they get home. Tomorrow they go back for their second week of school. I have some things to do that are important and that will hopefully take my mind of missing them for awhile.
