Adam Lewis reports the news on Monday the Seattle Mariners have promoted from their AAA minor league team right handed starting pitcher Taijaun Walker. Walker had been sent down to the Tacoma Rainiers which is the AAA minor league team on August 8, 2016 to work out the bugs on his pitching after a foot injury affected his pitching performances with the Mariners this current baseball season. Walker will be the starting pitcher of the Mariners on Tuesday evening when the New York Yankees pay a visit to Safeco Field in Seattle Washington. To make room for Walker on the Mariners 25 man active roster the Mariners demoted right handed relief pitcher Cody Martin to the Rainiers. The addition of Walker on the Mariners starting pitching staff, the chances that the Mariners will make a push to make it to the playoffs this year has increased since the Mariners are one game behind the Baltimore Orioles for the second wild card position and 5.5 games behind the Texas Rangers for first place in the American League West Division.

Walker just hasn't fulfilled the promise but is young and has great stuff. If he pitches well, Seattle has a real postseason shot.
