Can a Doctor in a Walk In Clinic Write/Fill a Prescription For You

Having moved to Manitoba a week ago, I didn't realize that we would be without health care for 3 months! Hubby's company said that wouldn't apply since he was being transferred from the US and we have a "health card" from the company. I have three prescriptions that I'm going to run out of and I'm wondering what to do about it. Has anyone experienced anything like this? What did you do? I'm hoping that if I take the bottles with me as proof, the doctor at the clinic will write me out new prescriptions. One is for high blood pressure, so I don't want to play around with that!!

I hope that you will be able to get your meds. That seems ridiculous that you have to wait for 3 months for health care.

I really don't know about your province's health system. BP is something to be taken seriously.

Just one step at a time I guess. Really don't need this stress. I wish all the provinces used the same health care system. :( It would make it so much easier!
