Have You Ever Visited Graceland, Elvis Presley's Home in Memphis, Tennessee?

This is definitely still on my “Bucket List.” I have not been there yet, but would still like to go. And it’s not really that far away. I understand that second only to the White House in Washington, D.C. Graceland is the most visited house in the USA. I would like to take one BIG trip to Nashville and Memphis. I’ve been to Tennessee and I’ve actually been to Nashville. However, we were there in Tennessee, during the holidays in December and the only day we had to go to Nashville was on Christmas day and everything was closed. So, we just drove around town, looked at the Grand Ole Opry building and drove back to our condo in Crossville. While we were there that week, we did go to Chattanooga and ride the incline railway and we went to Oak Ridge and toured the Science Museum there. I’d like to go back though and see more of Tennessee, especially Graceland. Did you know that the Grand Ole Opry that is broadcast from Nashville is the longest continuously running radio program in the world? And did you know that there are supposedly over 40,000 registered songwriters that live in Nashville? That seems almost ridiculous to me. I have actually written three songs but haven’t done anything with them, except to sing them myself. Have you been to the Grand Ole Opry or to Graceland?

It would be really nice to visit there. What I like about it besides the obvious glamor it is just a piece of land. It has grass and trees on the property like so many other lots. I meant that from an admiration point of view. He was just a guy that loved his mom.

I was always fascinated with the fact that Elvis was a twin. I have twin boys. Have you ever seen the movie, "The Identical?" It was a very interesting story about twins separated at birth.

I went to Graceland in 2009, with my parents, on our trek across many of the states, especially the Southern States.. The end journey was Galveston, Texas, but we also went to some other neat places, like Memphis, New Orleans, some of it is a bit of a blur too unfortunately haha. Anyways, Graceland is very very awesome! Highly recommended. I wish I knew where my pictures were of that as well. I also very much enjoyed going to a restaurant in Memphis called "Tom's Barbeque" since I am a bit of a foodie.. It was on "Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives" and the food there is absolutely awesome, and the owner was so gracious!

I'm glad you got to go to Graceland. Sounds like a nice trek. I've never been to New Orleans either and I've always wanted to visit there.

@IreneVincent It was very neat! I am sure you will get to go one day soon, and I will be very happy for you when that day comes :) Yes, it was a nice trek. New Orleans is really something! We were there for only a day, but can't complain right? A day is a day, after all! It's just, we would have liked to have done more things, but back then, I was not old enough to get in to the bars, unfortunately, heh.

I went to Graceland a lot of years ago. I took lots of pictures but I do not know what happened to those pictures.

I'm just now trying to get all my photos organized. It's crazy how many pictures I have found in my "home office." You've probably read in some of my posts that since I've retired from my jewelry business, I've been cleaning out my office and I'm finding all sorts of things.

No, I have not and hope to get to Tennessee in the next few years. My parents visited Graceland twice.
