feeling a little sluggish

Meet Mr/s Slug. He is missing. Shortly after this photograph was taken he disappeared. Just POOF!! and he was gone. Did a bird swoop down and eat him? Or was he just insanely fast? Maybe a garden fairy borrowed him for some wild adventures. Giddy-up, biggish slug! There is a frog living in my pond. I had no idea till I suddenly spied two little eyes looking directly at me. Why are you destroying my home? he enquired. Because it's dirty and disgusting. How can you even manage to survive amongst all that gunk? I responded. He didn't answer. Perhaps he had too much gloopy silt in his mouth. {as an aside, and bearing in mind that the pond will soon be empty completely - *fingers crossed* - what should one do with a homeless frog?} Butterflies have also been gracing my garden with their fluttery presence over the last couple of days, much to Dora and Qyzen's delight. Yay! Toys! they laugh, jumping around gleefully. It's a shame they're not so gleeful when they spy a spider. Rubbish with spiders, they are. *sigh*

Just looking at that picture of a slug makes me shudder - horrible creatures.

@Poppylicious I wage constant war on them - there seem to be so many more of them this year.

@jaboUK The thing is, even though I don't like them, I like the idea of intentionally sending them to slug heaven even less!

They're vile, aren't they? Definitely not the prettiest of creatures. My garden is full of them at the moment; I think my constant gardening this summer has freaked them out a bit!

Yes spiders can be scary but nature needs it for a reason.

I know. Nature is silly! She could have come up with less scary, more prettier creatures!

@poppylicious If you collect enough of them they make a jolly decent soup.

Frogs, slugs, cats, spiders or butterflies? Or all of them, together?!

Those frogs and butterflies love the gunky pond I think. And the birds. We have a lot of slugs this year too.

The butterflies love the flowers we have. My garden is quite the little haven for wildlife, which is nice, but sometimes gruesome and annoying!
