Matthew Schmidt reports the news on Thursday the Seattle Mariners have activated from the 15 day disabled list left handed starting pitcher James Paxton.
Paxton had not played in a baseball game for the Mariners since August 7, 2016 with a bruise to his left elbow.
Paxton was pitching for the Mariners AAA minor league team the Tacoma Rainiers in a rehabilitation assignment when he was promoted to pitch for the American West Division team on Thursday.
To make room for Paxton on the 25 man active roster, the Mariners have designated for assignment left handed pitcher Wade LeBlanc.
Paxton will be the starting pitcher for the Mariners on Thursday when the Chicago White Sox will be hosting their rivals at U S Cellular Field.
