This morning Mom reminded me to check on the status of the medication that I had called into the pharmacy (yet again). When I had been calling, instead of giving me the status of my perscription (which was what I was told by the computer voice to push "number X" to do) it just said that they needed to call my doctor because I was out of refills. I did this a couple of times. I was told, again, by the little computer voice, that the pharmacist had to call my doctor to approve refilling my medication, since it was out of refills. When I very first called, I was too early, as the pharmacy hadn't opened yet. So I called again later and tried to listen to see if the computer prompt searched the phone book and tried calling a slightly different number to get an actual person to see if my meds had been called in yet, but I wound up getting the same computer voice, even though it was by a different "path". So Mom called the gal we were supposed to go out to lunch with to see if she was still going, as she hadn't called about it. As it turned out, when she (our friend) had tried to call, our phone had been busy (due to my trying to call about my meds). When Mom told her what I had been doing, she suggested what she did when she called her pharmacy, to call the number on my pill bottle, only to use an ending number that was one higher (ie: 3 instead of 2) which is what she did to get an actual person instead of the computer voice. So I tried that, but wound up getting the same old computer voice again, so I hung up. A second later, while the phone was still in my hand, it rang. I answered it, and lo and behold it was a person, who I was able to ask if my medication was ready, and she said that yes, not only had it been filled at the pharmacy two days ago, but that they had record of me calling it in two other times. So, Mom called our friend back to say that her phone number trick worked, and also to reschedule our lunch date, as Mom hadn't been feeling really well all morning. Argh. What I didn't get to ask the lady on the phone was why, when I called to check the status of my prescription, it didn't actually tell me instead of saying over and over that my prescription was out of refills and they needed to call my doctor. Double argh. So, Mom and I went to Costco and picked up my meds, which were indeed there, got some juice type drinks for me to take in my work lunch, some bones for the dog, some ravioli to have for dinner one night, and some nut bar things that we got a sample of while we were walking around looking for the other things. By the time we got home it was lunch time, but Mom was so tired she asked if she could just go and take her nap, and we could have an early dinner, and I said fine because I was also tired and not really hungry anyway. So that was my morning. How was yours?
