Eric Chesterton reports the news on Friday the Boston Red Sox have activated from the 15 day disabled list right handed starting pitcher Steven Wright. Wright will be the starting pitcher for the Boston Red Sox on Friday evening when they host the defending World Series champions the Kansas City Royals at Fenway Park in Boston Massachusetts, To make room for Wright on the Red Sox 25 man active roster, the Red Sox have demoted right handed relief pitcher Heath Hembree to their AAA minor league team the Pawtucket Red Sox. The addition of Wright on the Red Sox starting pitching staff is a positive step for the team to improve their chances to make a playoff run for the remainder of the 2016 baseball season. Wright had been on the disabled list since August 7 with inflammation on his right shoulder.

The Sox need all the pitching they can get. It's a weakness.

You are correct in this matter. Red Sox fans have taken a beating from their team in recent years.
