Chris Cotillo reports the news on Friday the Toronto Blue Jays have traded their left handed minor league pitcher Colton Turner to the Chicago White Sox in exchange for catcher Dioner Navarro.
Navarro will likely be the third string catcher on the Blue Jays 25 man roster behind Russell Martin and Jason Thole for the remainder of the 2016 baseball season.
The Blue Jays who are currently the defending American League East Division champions are in contention to make another playoff run alongside the Boston Red Sox and the Baltimore Orioles.
Navarro who will be become a free agent at the end of the current baseball season so the Blue Jays are basically getting a rent a player unless they can sign him to a contract extension during the off season.
Turner will be likely be pitching for the White Sox minor league system until he is ready to pitch in the Major Leagues soon.

Interesting trade. Can't figure it. I get the Sox get a pitching prospect for a free agent to be but the Jays rent a 3rd string catcher. Maybe he will move ahead of Thole whose not hitting that great.

Navarro would be useful in catching knuckleball pitchers according to the report,
