It seems like there are a lot of rich people in the world who have the risk taking genes in their blood. When Crystal cruise starts to sell the 32 days journey through the Northern Passage, many rich people book the cruise. Major news around the world report on this historical event. Some term it as the most dangerous cruise in the world. The Northern passage is possible because of global warming, and so far, none of the ships that sail are as big as Crystal Serenity. It has a capacity for 1070 passengers, and at the point of sailing, the waiting list has more than 7000 passengers. The cruise price ranged from $22,000 to $120,000 per person. That does not include the shore excursions that may cost a few thousands more. It also does not include the land transport and hotel stay before or after the cruise. The ship has started the journey, and hopefully it does not turn out to be a major disaster in cruise history. http://www.adn.com/alaska-news/2016/08/21/nome-rolls-out-warm-welcome-for-high-rolling-travelers-aboard-arctic-cruise
Nome residents awoke Sunday morning to the novel sight of the largest cruise ship that has ever visited anchored offshore.

The rising prices of things and some people managing those prices comfortably makes me wonder how many people are getting rich these days.

When you see people paying more than $30,000 per person for a cruise through such a dangerous region, you wonder how they make all the money.

Maybe some of them saved years before going for that cruise or booked by their rich friends.

Not possible for them to save up for years for this trip. This trip is an one and only so far because the route is extremely dangerous. I think you do not know what is the Northern Passage, and the history of it. You can read up on it, and you can see that this is really a most dangerous cruise.

@Letranknight2015 i think so. Maybe they just want to take this once-in-a-lifetime trip, and then they can return home to boast about it. I just do not understand this mentality.

@scheng1 well, I guess they are obviously throwing money for the sake of a risky trip they must be bored living in the cities.
