Have You Ever Been To Disney World in Orlando, Florida

I have actually lost count of how many times I’ve been to Disney World, but I haven’t been there for quite a few years now.
I earned TWO all-expense-paid trips to Disney World when I worked for a jewelry company. But, I have also been there several times at my own expense.
It doesn’t interest me anymore, although I’m sure that there have been new rides and new attractions added since I’ve been there. It was fun to take my children and then my grandson later, but now I wouldn’t be able to enjoy it much. Too much walking for one thing.
Also, it was a coaster ride at Disney World that convinced me that I should no longer ride roller coasters. It felt like it was about to jerk my bones right out of my aging body.
Orlando, Florida is supposedly the number one tourist destination in the world, and that doesn’t surprise me, because of all the tourist attractions there.
What did surprise me was that even though Walt Disney planned Disney World, he died before it was built. His brother was actually in charge of having it built, I understand.
The life of Walt Disney is a very interesting story. I have read all about him. You can google his story now and learn more about him and his projects. He was a very interesting man.

I had no interest in Disney World and passed when in Florida. I have been to Disneyland several times.

I've been to both, and I agree: I think Disney Land is more Walt Disney's dream while Disney World is more the greedy owners' dream.

@FourWalls The admission price has sky rocketed, I've heard.

@IreneVincent it definitely is a fun place. I'm sure there is something for all ages though.

I've never been to Disney Land although I've been to California many times. I doubt if I'll ever get to go now, but I agree with you about the bone crushing rides. Too much pressure on my old bones, I know.

You have to love amusement parks, I guess. I used to LIKE to go, but not anymore.

@KristenH I'm glad you are not in a lot of pain. Back pain can be the worst. I have spurs and spinal stenosis so I understand back pain.

@IreneVincent Yeah it was. I would love to go back someday. I'm good now. I do have the same metal rod in my back 28 years ago. Not much in back pain these days.

I would imagine that the two places are similar in many ways and yet different in other ways. I've only been to Disney World.

I've been to Disney World twice, once in 1974 and once in 1979 (I went there on liberty after graduating from boot camp). In both cases you could see most of what you wanted to see in one day. I jokingly say that back then, Disney World was a suburb of Orlando instead of Orlando being a suburb of Disney World.

That's a good way to explain it. Disney World has expanded tremendously in the last 20 years or so.
