The job I have done the longest in my life is working as an Early Childhood Educator in preschools and daycares.
I love working with kids, and I also love giving tips to other care providers and parents on how they can be even better than they already are!
Here are some tips on being a great child care provider:
- Understand that child care is a skill, and always work to improve it.
- Follow through, and do what you say you will do.
- Allow children to make mistakes in order to learn and grow.
- Always show respect for a child's feelings.
- Be the leader, take charge, but always do it with a caring and warm demeanor.
- Understand that children's brains are not yet fully developed.
- Encourage lots of play time!
- Show lots of love!
In using these tips, anyone can be a great care giver to a child.

@MissNikki Sometimes I think every parent should do some sort of childcare course. There's too many unfit parents out there.

While I was taking my Early Childhood Education course in college, I thought the same thing myself. You learn so much about child development and how to teach them things using different methods, and the importance of what happens in their environment... I recommend a course like this to anyone with children or who plans to have them in the future.
