I enjoy reading a good science fiction book. I also enjoy reading a horror novel. I have seen several movies in this genre. I wondered if I could write something new. It seemed impossible. Still, I decided to give it a try. Here then is the beginning of my story "The Last Bus Ride" Tell me what you think. Should I continue with the story?
It was James Gilmore's first day back at school. He was so excited. James grabbed his box lunch and kissed his mother goodbye. "Have a nice day," said his mother. "And make some new friends."
"I will," said James. "I can't wait to be back. This year is going to be a blast."
James saw a school bus approaching. James, 9 years old, brushed back his brown hair. He boarded the school bus.
"Hi James," said Rick, the bus driver. "Ready for a new year at school."
"I sure am. I'm going into 4th grade. Mrs. Trust teaches that class. She's the best."
James saw his best friend Max on the bus. "Have a seat," said Max.
The two friends talked about the summer and all the things that they had done. "I went to Florida this summer," said Max. "It was so hot. Went to visit my cousin Lucy. At least I got to Skeleton Theme Park. It was cool."
The bus was approaching Risendale Elementary. Just as it turned down Zenith St., a strange thing happened. The bus began to vibrate. Although Rick seemed alright, all the children on the bus began to scream. The bus then twirled around for five seconds and vanished. Twenty students on board the bus were gone! Where did they go? Are they still alive? Why was Rick so calm? Ah, there lies the mystery and the beginning of the adventure. Shall I go on. You decide!
