The woes of public transportation

Kudos to all of you saving money and being patient enough to use public trasport! I usually use the bus system here during the week as I work downtown. Yesterday I had a hellish experience that reminded me why I love driving. Lol. Bussing can be incredibly frustrating. Yesterday I got on a super packed bus and got stuck next to someone who smelled soo rank - like they hadnt showered in eons. I couldnt even move at that point because the bus was to capacity just about. A few really drunk or high patrons got on the bus and were trying to instigate fights with other bussers. And when the driver got involved they tried to get into it with him. They eventually were asked to get off the bus at one point and I was surprised they complied! Nothing exciting happened on the way home except the bus was 15 minutes late and I had to wait in the rain. That wasnt do bad though. Rant for me is over. Today I am choosing to pay$10 to park just for the change of pace in driving. Lol. What have been your stories with public transport? Do you use busses and trams?

There is no public transportation here. I have lived where I took buses to work. My biggest peeve was at the main bus terminal downtown. You wait for an hour for your bus and then three show up together. Like couldn't they plan it better? And then there is always the surly rider or driver that makes the experience unpleasant.

Indeed! And not only do they take an hour but they are usually late...how frustrating!

@maezee Yes, but what can you do if you need to take the bus?

The transport system in the capital of the Philippines kinda sucks so I have lots of horror stories when I do commute. One time I took the train during rush hour and unfortunately the train was broken in the middle of two stations so I had to walk along the rails under the heat of the sun so when I got to work, I was all sweaty, I asked my boss if I could have a day off work because of the whole ordeal.

@maezee we have both but most people here prefer to take the train because if you take the bus you have to worry about the gridlock.

I also prefer to ride our car during long travel but I prefer to ride in a public transport for our short travel.

I love public transport as l don't have a car.On my way to work,im usually the only passenger as l work the opposite side of town so while people are going into town,im going out. The bus station is just 5 minutes from my apartment and it drops me 2 minute walk to work.I have bus every 15 minutes. Nothing to complain really
