If your underage child told you they hated you, how would you react?

I think this is most common in teens, especially when they don't get their way. Of course it happens with troubled kids as well. So, how would you react if this happened to you?

My 16 year old daughter has been telling her mom that for several years now. And you're right, she has always abused her. They've been living with me for a while now, but the worst thing she has ever told me was "you sound just like mom now dad!". To me, that was a pretty low hit. She was mad because I wouldn't let her go anywhere until her room was clean. She later came to me crying and apologized, several times. We hugged and she has never done it again.

Ouch! I would've been hurt terribly in your case, especially since your ex is an abuser. I'm glad she came back and apologized, and you accepted. Parenting is not an easy job as some think.
