Today Has Been a Water Day

All day I've been periodically looking out the window in hopes of seeing rain. We've had a thick blanket of dark clouds all day and it has looked like it was about to start raining at any moment. But so far we have not had so much as a single drop of rain. It's a different story, however, indoors. Why? Because it's Tuesday and Tuesday is watering day. I water all my many, many houseplants every Tuesday. Watering my houseplants takes a long time. That is because of the sheer number of potted plants. I have so many houseplants that I may soon be kicked out of my apartment by them. I'm running out of room. The plants are all growing and multiplying and soon there will no longer be any room for me. I live in a veritable indoor jungle. Of course I would have it no other way. I'm a plant freak. There are only six windows in my tiny little apartment and there are dozens of houseplants crowded in front of each window. It's like they all want a good view of the out-of-doors. They have all been peering out the windows today hoping to see some rain just like I've been. Cats and houseplants are a lot alike. They both like to sit on a window sill staring out at the world beyond the glass. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to be a cat or a houseplant. But I'm luckier than them because I can go out the door and enter that world 'out there.' Even though we still haven't gotten any rain today all my many, many houseplants got watered today--and not only watered but misted. I could feel their immense gratitude and I tried to project my gratitude for their company to them. Tuesday is a happy day in my apartment. The vibes are awesome.
