Steve Adams reports the news the Oakland Athletics who are not in contention to make a playoff run this year are working on a deal to trade their outfielder Coco Crisp to the Cleveland Indians.
Crisp has waived his right to refuse a trade with another team in the Major Leagues since has played five years with one team and has ten or more years of service in the Majors.
Crisp if he agrees to be traded to the Indians will likely have a part time role with the team for the remainder of the current baseball season.
Due to the season ending injury to outfielder Michael Brantley, Crisp would provide the Indians are currently in first place in the American League Central Division standings.
Since Crisp has a batting average of .234 his playing time with the Athletics has been given a smaller role with a team that is not going to make the playoffs this year.
It is just a matter of time before Crisp is either traded to the Indians or he decides to stay put in Oakland.

I could imagine former pro wrestler Bobby "The Brain" Heenan asking Crisp "Did your parents wait nine months to call u Coco?"

I did not know that. My brother in law who is from Ohio would probably know that though.
