This man hated his ex-friend so much that he vandalized his grave

There was this man from the Pennsylvania who doesn't have forgiveness from his vocabulary. For 56 years he still thinks his friend stole 300 dollars from him so when his friend died he decided to Vandalize his grave. I had feuds with some people who are already dead by now for different reasons but I didn't celebrate on their deaths. I even felt sad even though they were rude. I can't believe he carried this grudge after all these decades. I can understand it if the person he hated killed a loved one. I know years ago 300 dollars have a high value but wow he never moved on. On the bright side at least he didn't kill him when he had a chance.
The grudge dates to the childhood of a 69-year-old Pa. man, Pa., who says a friend took $300 from a box in his bedroom. The man just couldn't let it go, even more than 50 years later with the sticky-fingered friend now in his grave.

He told police he would pay back any restitution minus the $300 he was owed over 56 years ago. He got what he wanted, I guess.

There is a website known as dollar times and it can calculate the value of a certain amount of money from any era. 56 years ago is 1960, He lost his 300 dollars in 1960. During the 1960 this is the value of 300 US dollars: $2,413.52 Is that enough amount to be salty?

@sabtraversa Maybe he needed that money for an emergency and losing it may had caused some damage to his life.

@CaptAlbertWhisker Yeah, I considered the inflation, but I think the owed money in 56 years turned into a symbol, not real lost cash.

That man has tortured himself for 56 years over something as paltry as 300 dollars. Holding a grudge for that long just isn't worth the toll it will take on you.

He is feeling the anger forever because he just can't let go. He reminds me of my dad who kept on nagging on my brother whenever he remembers he broke his expensive base when he was 8. My dad still blames him. I remember years ago, My brother is already working in Quebec and my dad just gave him a phone call just to nag about that base again.

Yes he needs to get over it, now he will pay a bog fine, probably a lot more than $300

He is like a kid who got his candy stolen. Now I know why we need to learn to forgive.

He can't move on until now that he is able to do that with no remorse.

It was a sad read. But anyways, the facts are that way. Some people are so much depressed (or maybe suffering from some emotional disorder) that they never grow beyond. They continue living in the past and never come out of it.

@CaptAlbertWhisker Yes, it sounds like a stressful thing to a normal being. Maybe he started finding pleasure in all that grudge. Of late, I have seen some people with that kind of attitude and think that they become sadistic and enjoy the grudge(s) that they hold. Difficult to say as we never are on those ends.

It is a bit fascinating he lived that long despite of holding a grudge. I mean that grudge must be giving him stress all his life.

At least if he had killed him, he'd get "revenge" by making him suffer a little. Now, it doesn't even matter that much. It's not like 'vandalizing his grave' will make him any less-"resting in peace!"

$300 is chump change these days and yeah even in the 90s it was a lot of money... But how was this not hashe out when this dude was alive? Plus vandalizing his grave? Why? WTF will that accomplish?

I guess he needed a shock absorber of the grudge that he held for some long. Holding grudges were never healthy at all.

@CaptAlbertWhisker I can atest to it not being healthy having held a few grudges myself. But usually don't go anyone near the person I hold a grudge against. So this guy vandalizing his former buddy's grave baffles me. Plus there are other shocker absorbers. Plus unless this dude's a greedy old fart, I don't he how he's incapable of forgiveness. I mean it's $300!
