It's time for the penultimate great album title...at least in my mind. I hope you really like these last three (yesterday's More Songs About Buildings and Food and tomorrow's album title), because to me, they're the three best album titles ever concocted for a "serious" album (as opposed to a comedy or novelty album).
#2: You're Never Alone With a Schizophrenic - Ian Hunter
When I did a Joe Walsh album earlier I mentioned he was notorious for his album titles. This one seems to have been found in Walsh's trash can as a rejected title.
Actually, Mick Ronson (who co-produced the album with Hunter) came up with the title. And together, he and former Mott the Hoople lead singer Ian Hunter created a masterpiece hiding behind one of the best album titles you're ever going to hear.
And this is also considered one of Hunter's greatest albums. It's definitely my favorite (not that I have every Ian Hunter/Mott the Hoople album, mind you), and it's also one of my favorite albums of the 70s. From the anthem "Cleveland Rocks" (supposedly the primary reason that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is in Cleveland instead of a more rock-and-roll town like Memphis) to his stunning ballad about his relationship with his dad, "Ships" (which was later covered by Barry Manilow, but don't judge the song by that, it's still great
), it's a terrific record.
As this was the era of "Brooooooce," a lot of people probably picked the album up because most of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band played on the record. Hey, if it was that or the title....whatever got people to listen. In the end, they were glad they did listen.

LOL. That's one I never heard of. It does sound like a Walsh reject, doesn't it.
