I did as planned and took my walk at lunchtime today rather than in the morning. As it turns out, there were two pretty nice benefits to doing that. First, since the park is only about two minutes from my office, versus 15-20 minutes (depending on traffic) from home, I had that much more time. And, second, I could walk through the park without my socks getting soaked with dew. It's still somewhat quiet there, as it has been the past couple of weeks. I think this is because some of the birds have flown south already and haven't been replaced by those that are coming from further up north. And, unfortunately, I missed out on a great photo opportunity when a garter snake slithered right past my foot. By the time I realized it was there, and what it was, I didn't have a chance to grab the picture before it went into the tall grass. I did, however, get this frog photo. This was actually a shot I was surprised I was able to get. Much like that snake, these guys blend in with the grass and I don't usually see them until it's too late and they are diving into the water. This time, I still didn't see the frog right away. But, instead of going into the water, it settled for finding another spot on the grass.
