I know that lots of you probably remember this song or at least have seen the “Rocky” movies starring Sylvester Stallone. In 1982 actor and director Stallone hit it big when the song “Eye of the Tiger” rose up on the Billboard pop chart and stayed there for a whole six weeks. The very first number one hit from the “Rocky” series was “Gonna Fly Now” which rose up on the charts in the summer of 1977. “Eye of the Tiger” was from “Rocky III” and it was written by a Chicago bar-band called Survivor. Stallone chose them to write the song after he heard their 1981 hit “Poor Man’s Son”. He requested that the songwriting band members Frankie Sullivan and Jim Peterik write a song that had a strong beat and would be preferred by rock lovers. Survivor went on to write six more Top 40 hits among them the number two hit “Burning Heart” from “Rocky IV” in 1985. www.history.com%2fthis-day-in-history%2fquoteye-of-the-tigerquot-from-rocky-iii-tops-the-us-pop-charts

Lead singer Dave Bickler who sang Eye of the Tiger would go on to do commercial jingles most notably Bud Light's Real Men of Genius series.

Eye of the Tiger is one of my favorite song to listen to when I walk indoor. I used to jog at the gym on my lunch hour with that music on and it brings back of lot of good memories. I also love Rocky movies.

@RasmaSandra I am not a fan of boxing and wrestling either, but I find the Rocky movies very motivational.
