Jesse Borek reports the news on Thursday the Minnesota Twins who have expanded their roster from 25 to 40 players for the remainder of the current baseball season have promoted from their AAA minor league team the Rochester Red Wings outfielder Byron Buxton.
Buxton, 22, has been successful playing in the AAA minor league level this year but due to his youth and lack of experience he has a poor batting average of .199 in 109 Major League Baseball games in his two seasons with the Twins since he made his debut in 2015.
Since the Twins are not in contention to make the playoffs this year since they figure that giving Buxton some playing time for the remainder of the current baseball season will determine if he can a success in the Major Leagues or be just another bust.
