That favourite song, you never listen to

Whatever work we are at, whatever mood we are in, we all have become a little habitual to the world of music. Just plugging in those earphones and getting to our daily businesses, while cleaning or travelling, while exercising or even studying, music in those ears makes the work much more bearable than it would have been without those tunes and lyrics pouring into our ears. With words or without words, music always has window into our souls. There is always at least one song that makes us smile, or makes us sentimental and brings a tear or two to our eyes, or the song that makes us go shimmying about as if no one's watching us, or a song that brings about that feeling of nostalgia as we link that one particular song to some incident of our past. A person who hasn't felt any of these or isn't hooked to any kind of music, doesn't realise what bliss he/she is missing. You listen to a song in the morning, doesn't matter if that is your favourite song or not, it'll stick into your head all day. And you go humming about, the same song in a loop, even if you are a bad singer, until the listeners around you either get fed up or at least catch the bug and start humming that one, too. This happens with all of us. But, have any of you realised that in those hundreds of songs on your phones, iPods or music players, there is always 'one' such song that used to be your favourite once upon a time. Your love for that song might have faded considerably, but hasn't died down completely. Even today you may mention to your friends about how much you like that song, but in reality you never get around to listen to that song, 'even once'. When you are listening to a playlist shuffled on your music players, and the next song that starts playing is this 'old favourite' one, you immediately hit 'next song' button. Why? Do you hate it now? Or too bored with it now? No, but because this maybe a song that you like, but you might not be in a mood for that one right now...so you skip it. But are you doing this once? Twice? No, you may have been doing this for months now and you don't actually realise it. And, when you feel your phone storage is full and you want to free up some space and start about deleting unwanted or unused media, this song won't make it to the trash. Why? Because it’s supposed to be your favourite or may have some sentiment attached. And yet, you never listen to it. Always, skip. Do let us know which is that one favourite song of yours that you never listen to, but always skip. And yet, never delete. We humans can be so silly and illogical at times, you see.
