3 foot waves? No problem!

So I've progressed a little with the boat-I'm very comfortable in choppy water now. In fact, it's a little more fun, to be honest. Today I made the mistake of going out a little later then I normally do, and it being the long weekend the lake was FULL of boaters. Not the nice kind of boaters who are there at 6am (when I'm normally out)-the people doing the early morning fishing are a little more courteous-the later crowd are all up from the city, they are showing off for their girlfriends, or whoever, and I suppose in their mind driving past canoes and small motor boats at warp speed is impressive. Impressive...in a totally pathetic manner-(sorry, but in my eyes that's like advertising that you have low self esteem). The lake was full and the water was choppy to begin with...so having all these people drive right past me, well, it made the choppy water a little more choppier. The canoe-ers were cursing them, but me? Some part of me kinda relished the work out of paddling past the 3 foot waves...and then when it was time to go back, I kinda enjoyed being carried by them back to the boat launch. Mmmmm, unfortunately what these people don't realize is what they are doing is kinda illegal, and it being the long weekend the police are out and are looking to write tickets. But like I said, I simply enjoyed the ride...and 3 foot high waves? No problem at all!

Sounds like fun! I think it's mean and stupid of those boaters to try to knock over the canoes.

People can just be so rude and inconsiderate. Glad you made it safely out of the water.
