Alex Kolodziej reports the news on Saturday the Miami Marlins have activated from the 15 day disabled list second baseman Derek Dietrich.
Dietrich had been placed on the 15 day disabled list since August 19, 2016 with a contusion to his right knee.
The Cleveland Indians are hosting the Marlins in the second of a three game series that is being played at Progressive Field. Dietrich is in the starting lineup on Saturday.
The Marlins are currently in contention to make a playoff appearance as a wild card draw even though they are two games behind the St Louis Cardinals for the second wild card slot as of games played on Friday.
The addition of Dietrich in the starting lineup will increase the chances of the Marlins to make a playoff run for the remainder of the 2016 Major League Baseball season.

I don't remember Dietrich playing. Miami is still hanging in the playoff race.
