It's one thing, to be "too hip to be square" -- and perhaps, what John Conlee may have been singing about (on the country song: "Common Man"), is that having a high brow and a dog with... a pedegree, does not (neccessarily) make a person hip or any more cooler, than a person who drives to a fast food place, sharing (without pretense) the facts about himself or herself (to someone), as being, comfortable with being an everyday kind of person, who enjoys the comforts of a simple, yet, appreciated lifestyle. Can you relate to being a 'common person' who digs living simply and comfortably, rather than, someone who needs to be living more luxuriously or sophisticatedly?
