Day 170
Psalm 149
Psalm 149:1 Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.
2 Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.
3 Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.
4 For the LORD takes pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.
5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.
6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;
7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;
8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;
9 To execute upon them the judgment written: this honor have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.
I love those days when I wake up with a smile on my face and a song in my heart and nothing and no one can do or say anything to take that away from me. I know you’ve had those days as well when everything is right and nothing, no matter what, can take away that smile from your face.
The psalmist had one of those days as he praised God with new songs of praise and gave it his all when he joined in the congregation. No doubt his voice was heard above the rest on that occasion as he sang God’s praises. He was ready to take on his enemies and bind them all in chains.
As Christians, we have lots of reasons to give God praise, singing songs and new songs to him, to show him how much we love him for all he has done for us. God’s Word is our two-edged sword. Carrying it causes Satan to have a headache, reading it causes him to collapse and disappear from our lives, why? Because we are standing on the Word of God and nothing he can do will cause us to move away from the promises found in God’s Word. Therefore, he must flee from us. Oh and when we pray, the gates of hell disintegrate before us. Nothing stands in the way of a man or woman of God on fire for God, who is singing his praises and glorifying him with every breath in his body.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Matthew 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.
Matthew 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. (KJV)
James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (KJV)
Are you praising God today? Are the gates of hell shaken with your praise? Is the smile on your face visible for all to see? It’s a day to be joyful in your salvation and declare Jesus as LORD and KING of your life.
Let’s pray: Father, thank you for providing your Son, Jesus, for my salvation. Help me to praise you as the psalmist did, with everything in me so the gates of hell are shaken with my praise and Satan must flee from me. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

So true. I don't want to think about my life without him, it's unimaginable.
