Joseph Nocco reports the news on Monday the Baltimore Orioles have activated from the 60 day disabled list left handed relief pitcher Brian Duensong.
To make room for Duensong on the Orioles 40 man active roster, the Orioles have designated for assignment right handed relief pitcher Odrisamer Despaigne.
Duensong had pitched for the Minnesota Twins from 2009-2015 before he signed a minor league contract with the Kansas City Royals before he was released on May 17. The Baltimore Orioles on May 23, 2016 before he joined the Orioles on June 2, 2016.
Duensong had been placed on the disabled list on June 22 which was retroactive to June 20 due to an injury to his left elbow.
Since the Orioles are currently in contention to make it to the playoffs this year, having Duensong back on their team will be an improvement to make it to the playoffs.

You are correct in having a left handed relief pitcher on the team for special roles.
