Do you compare your lives to other people's lives?

We all know that there is always that someone who would be better than us so I think we should not waste time in comparing your life to others. There will always be someone who has a better job, more money, more successful career, a better partner, perfect children and others. So no need to be insecure and just live your life as best as you can. I am sometimes guilty though of being envious and comparing but I try my best not to since it would just stress me out. So I always remind myself that the best person I can compete with is myself. How about you? Do you compare your lives to other people's lives?

I try to not do that too often, but sometimes you just can't help yourself. I will always compare my life to others one way or the other, but that does not mean I'm unhappy with my life.

That is true. It does not mean we are unhappy with our lives but I think we should not stress ourselves too much about this

Yes, it gets that way sometimes. But even if we are down, let's try not to go into comparison mode as it would just worsen what we are feeling. Maybe we can compare in a way that your life is much better than the less fortunate so it could help in a way that it could lift up our spirits

@lealuvy2j I think the way society is structured we always get compared on the basis of money, looks, and other things in life.

Well written and very true. We can wrapped up in it and its not healthy. I tend to in my down times think everyone, I mean everyone in the world is having a big party. Of course it isn't true but the dude next door seems to be always acting like he is. Maybe it can be healthy to look at others if we want a role model or to learn how they do things?

Thank you. I agree that we can look up to someone but we should also think the person, who we are looking up to, has a life that is not as perfect as the way we see it. We should assume that the guy has problems of his own even if we are unaware of it. Who knows that guy might be secretly wishing his life is as awesome as yours.

@lealuvy2j I do agree that no one in this world seems to get out alive. Everyone has a problem sooner or later. I could expand on this next part but I'll just say some are doing very well compared to others. We just need to feel good about it?

Well it is hard not to compare actually but I highly doubt that the people we are envious of have perfect lives and have no problems.

With lots of money comes lots of taxes and headaches unless you have so much you don't care anymore. Most want to keep it. Its endless.

When I was still living my life filled with insecurities, i did. I was a negative thinker back then. Now, it's the other way around. Acceptance did really help me.

This is everyone in life will encounter problem .we always compare this and that. Our hearts are always plagued by a lot of things. The pain and desires always with us.When this happens, we need to control own heart. We need to know what we need? After a goal.what we need to do is to struggle.

No. It's a waste of brain cells to compare my life with others' lives. I'm beyond happy & satisfied with my career, my being single, and my life as a whole.

Its not right to compare lives because each one of us is one & unique, everyone has their own course of life journey which we have to live on our own without anyone's help & assistance and hence comparison of any sort is meaningless.

Everyone has a different course to take. I like that. It keeps the pressure off in keeping up with the lives of other people.

I am actually the type who would always compare my life to those living better than me. I would feel like they were always luckier to be given lives like those. But that doesn't mean I hate my life for that. If I were given another chance I'd still pick the life I have right now. I know that God has reasons why He chose this path for me. He knows that I could handle the challenges He'd give me. And I trust Him for guiding me.

This is good thought. Just trust in Him as He knows what would be the best path for us.
