Taylor Smith reports the news on Tuesday the San Diego Padres have activated from the 60 day disabled list outfielder Jon Jay. Jay 30, was sent to the 60 day disabled list on June 28 with a broken right forearm that was injured on June 20 when he was hit by a pitched baseball thrown by Washington Nationals left handed starting pitcher Gio Gonzalez. Jay played three games in a rehabilitation assignment for the Lake Elsinore Storm which is the Advanced Class A team of the Padres when he received the news he was coming back to the San Diego Padres. Jay who has played in the Major Leagues with the St Louis Cardinals from 2010-2015 and the San Diego Padres can become a free agent at the end of the 2016 baseball season. Since the Padres will be in another rebuilding mode in 2017, it is not likely that Jay will return to the Padres next year.
