Philippines: The Longest to Celebrate Christmas

It's still the start of September but I have seen on TV that many Filipinos are already decorating their homes with Christmas decorations. Radio and TV stations are playing Christmas songs with their Christmas themes all over. Seems it is already part of our culture that when the month of September strikes, it's time to start the Christmas countdown and the celebration of the Holiday Seasons. Isn't it too early to celebrate Christmas? Photos was taken during our Christmas party in the bank at the 90's

It is a bit early to start celebrating Christmas. November wouldnt be bad but I think if you start celebrating in September you would be fed up with it by the time Christmas finally arrived.

Yes, you're right. I noticed when we start the celebration on September, when December 24 comes, it's seems it is just an ordinary day already.

@Macarrosel I can understand that. I do love Christmas though. It is my most favorite time of the year.

Yes, very early but they love it. The bad effect is when the Christmas Day arrives, it seems it would just an ordinary day. No excitement whatsoever.

I don't know how I start it in September but I don't feel it unless it's the time of December. But I don't think I want to spent.

I usually put Christmas decorations at home after All Souls Day. I think it's really too early for those things. But malls here in Manila are putting on Christmas decors already.

It's a mental thing for most Filipinos. The media is starting to condition the mind of their listeners to start their festive moods forward to christmas. I think, in the most serious side of things that we need to look out for the meaning of "Christmas". It's the most important - finding the reason for the season. Those who've found the reason for the season are the people who are the privileged because they know how to celebrate with purpose.

I just hope all Filipinos do that, celebrating The Holiday Seasons with the right purpose. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

All my Filipino friends tell me Christmas is on in the "BER" months (SeptemBER, OctoBER, NovemBER, DecemBER). I remember when we went trick or treating for Halloween last year, our new Filipino neighbors down the street had the Christmas trees up already!!

You look cute in that photo. Yes,Filipinos are so excited for Christmas; and while at a grocery, I felt like sad when a Christmas song was played!
