Do You Yardsale

I have a neighbor who holds yard sales regularly. She has a couple of outbuildings where she keeps the stuff she and her husband collect stuff to sell. Plus she has six kids so there are always a lot of clothes and shoes they've grown out of. I went over there today and bought a new keyboard, a lazy susan, and decorative cast iron tissue holder. How about you? Do you hold yard sales or visit them?

I love to go to yard sales and thrift stores, but I don't have much luck selling at my own yard sales.

Sometimes I think of doing a yard sale but it would be stuff I already want to get rid of so I usually just end up donating it rather than go to all that trouble.

@clrumfelt That's what I often do. I'd rather donate it to the Salvation Army.

That's easier than holding a yard sale. Yard sales are rarer than they used to be around here too. Lots of people put their goods on the Buy, Sell and Trade site for our county.

I have a yard sale twice a month and go to a floating flea market four times a month to make money at.

That sounds like fun! I usually just stop spontaneously when I see one. I haven't ever really planned to go yard saling.

i don't hold yard sales but I do like going to them. You can get some pretty awesome deals. My sisters go to them every week. They were showing me all their yard sale finds when I was up there last weekend. I couldn't believe all the great deal they got.

Some people make a hobby of shopping yard sales every weekend. My brother-in-law found a really rare guitar at one once and he made a lot of money by selling it to one of his co-workers.

No I couldn't be bothered to have a yard sale - they are rare in England anyway. We have carboot sales where people with things to sell gather on a field and sell them out of their cars, or put up trestle tables. The only time I visit a carboot sale is if I need some plants.
