India's Modi is not even half as good as China's Xi Jinping

Both India's Modi and China's Xi Jinping are very smart guys. They have the foresight to see that a reform is necessary for the long term good of the country. However, both of them tackle matter different, and this shows up how foolish or wise they are. Xi Jinping started the reform by tackling the corruption in the government. He was not afraid of the other powerful Politburo Standing Committee members. As a result, the anti-corruption drive had a successful start. It will be a very long time before the corruption is cleaned out from all levels, but that was a very good start. Modi started the reform by tackling the rank-and-file. As a result, millions of workers (public servants) go on strike. Personally I find that it is very foolish of Modi to anger the people in this way. if he wants to reform, he should start at the top. Those at the bottom already have difficulty making a living, and now he wants them to be worse off, while the corrupted politicians get fatten. http://indianexpress.com/article/india/india-news-india/bharat-bandh-today-trade-union-strike-live-updates-3009137
Bharat Bandh: The strike has been called by central trade unions such as Congress’s INTUC, and Left’s CITU and AITUC.

I don't think whatever happens in calcutta is due to modi... those people in calcutta are communism driven, they have problem with everything and they go on strike every alternate month.

Are you sure the labor strike is just in Calcutta? It seems that there are up to 150 million workers on strike on 2 September. The India news sites mention that it is a national strike against Modi's reform.

@scheng1 labor strike == communist party of india. if you check any other states , everything is going just fine. communists and the earlier governments politician are making such strikes and anti modi stuff for months. india's economy and condition improved after he got elected. but communists are never happy because they never get elected in india.

It's the communists who have started the strike in Kolkatta. The communist will neither grow nor let others to grow. Whenever a new reform or technology comes up they have to oppose. For them development of country is the last thing in their mind. The rest of the country were not affected much.

They should see what happens to China and Russia. Communism is even worse than corruption in the government. At least, in the current stage, the people have the power to go to the street to protest. If under communist rule, they do not have court and judges to decide what is right or wrong. The government just executes whoever dares to protest.
