This is what I did not want to do I want to run my own business. As you know I have a food Cart. But the government required a commissary for the food cart which means I have to open my own restaurant to have a commissary since that the only way to do it. But I do not have that kind of money. My friend's who have restaurants . Can not help me they are afraid of sue Happy people .my area has no other jobs in the area. If someone work one part time job the other part time employee will not hire ,So it make it very hard. To earn money. Some people think everyone on food stamps is lazy well that a lye most people on food stamps do work. Plus like I said I can not open my food cart with out a commissary. A commissary is any commercial kitchen w a health permit

I'm really sorry it's not working out as planned. We're going to have to get back on food stamps as well. My husband and I just talked about it last night. =( We hate that things are going this way for us also but that's life at times, sadly.
There was no work where we used to live so we had to move after getting taxes back one year. There's more work here, things just slowed down a bit right now.

I do not believe you have to open your own kitchen. At least, that's not how commissaries work around where I am.
You can also rent space in a shared commercial kitchen. Others, rent space in a restaurant outside normal working hours.
Some Schools, some churches, and local VFW and Elk’s Club have health inspected kitchens. These can be rented. Or even better: used for free if you sign an agreement to cater for their events as a means of paying the rent.
So, maybe you should go round to find a person who would let you in in his kitchen.
At least, trying it hard would be a worthwhile effort. And it will make you feel better about yourself.

In my area we do not have any commercial kitchen
For rent all the non profit like elks or anyone else will not do it. They are all afraid of sue Happy people
The VFW bartender had to stop selling her hotdog
On their property , Because their lawyer was afraid of sue Happy people. This is why my friends who own restaurants will not help me. Other hot dog vendor lost his commissary because that restaurant went out of business. He had to buy a little snack bar type of a restaurant to have a commissary.
This is the only way I could open up in my part of NY state. Now if I was in Florida there a business that speclize as a commissary for like$500 a month. My problem is I do not have money to move

@eagletrek2 Oh wow. Might just went up 2 dollars as of tomorrow. Any cent or dollar counts. I go to Acme, Aldi's and now Marc's for shopping, since Giant Eagle is expensive even with sales and coupons. Go for it!
