Matthew Schmidt reports the news on Sunday the Texas Rangers who are currently in first place in the American League West Division 9.5 games ahead of the Houston Astros have activated from the 60 day disabled list right handed starting pitcher Colby Lewis.
Lewis had been placed on the 15 day disabled list on June 25, 2016 with a strain of his right lat muscle that sidelined him from pitching in the Major Leagues until he was activated to pitch against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on Sunday.
Lewis has a pitching record of six wins and one loss with an earned run average of 3,21 in 15 starts during the 2016 Major League Baseball season.
To make room for Lewis on the Rangers 40 man roster, the Texas Rangers designated for assignment left handed relief pitcher Michael Roth.
The presence of Lewis on the Rangers starting pitching staff should increase the chances of the Rangers to make another playoff run in 2016.
