The internet is in serious danger. To me that means we may have to shut down the internet to prevent any more ISIS campaigns to recruit American youth to join in their cause.
Trolls are always hanging out in every chat room, on every social media site to destroy what good others have tried so hard to achieve.
So far the internet is still up there and running like a well oiled and honed machine.
There are a number of things that would happen if the internet were just shut down.
For one thing, getting directions with your GPS would not be there for you. Then you couldn't use your debit or credit card to purchase anything either online or off line at retail stores.
All communications via cell phone and email would be halted. This is what I call a worse case scenario. I hope it never comes to that. But thinking about it makes me feel like being on the edge of a cliff and a strong wind blowing behind me and the drop off is 500 feet to the rocky earth below.
The bigger picture is, there would be economic ruination on a massive scale unprecedented in human society.
If you are worried about our government shutting down the internet to keep out terrorism and cults from destroying American youth, there is another issue to deal with and that is, the present danger that already exists and the numbers keep getting larger and larger. The number of children being taken online is growing. So why worry?
Have a cup of espresso and enjoy the day. The time when you are one day without the internet is well within your lifetime. Meanwhile we go about our business, hoping that it will never come to that. Hoping that ISIS and other cults will just stop their evil ways and the trolls will just take a hike.
Well, we have to be optimistic and hope things work out. Yea, Right.

There must be another way to stop all you say. The title of the story asks a question: we all must find the answers.

@lookatdesktop Parents and schools should play their part at this. I feel respect has disappeared. I´m of the old school when children had to earn some of their rights,

@marguicha Yes that is a good way to do things with your kids. Your children deserve the respect and thoughtfulness that comes with being properly guided and the values of trust being earned before the rewards of opportunity are made available. One example would be to reward a good grade with an extra few hours online just as long as the sites they go to are properly monitored at least until they become of age to decide for themselves. If they are allowed to for instance, hang out on Facebook at an early age like 12 or younger, having lied about their age to get registered, then all hope may be lost. The potential for bad experiences is greater on that site in my opinion.
