Pat McManamon reports the news on Monday the Cleveland Browns have placed their starting quarterback Robert Griffin III on the injured reserved list with a broken bone in his left shoulder. Griffin could return to the team after missing the minimum of eight games if he is able to return to play football. Griffin was injured during the second half of the Browns 22-10 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia Pennsylvania when he hit by he tried to run out of bounds during a scramble play when his teammate tight end Gary Barnridge collided with Griffin when he was shoved by Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Jalen Mills. Call it a freak accident. Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson will have 37 year old Josh McCown to replace Griffin as the starting quarterback of the Browns while rookie Cody Kessler will serve as the backup quarterback to McCown for the time being.
