Get ready to put on your VR glasses and start the conversation in a virtual meeting of the minds, two decades or so from the present time.
Imagine living in the next few decades when everyone carries around a small tablet or smartphone or whatever new device is then available in or around the next 20 years and you and several other people go to a business meeting to discuss likes and dislikes, pros and cons and throw ideas around in a meeting where the members of the meeting use emoticons and text messaging in a virtual reality environment where actually no single person is occupying the same space but in virtual reality everyone appears to share the same digital or virtual meeting room.
Then the conversations go something like, "Hello there. I am the mediator of today's 30 minute meeting. We will go over the agendas and the progress of the company and share ideas, likes and dislikes, pros and cons by using Virtual Office 5.1 and use our tablets to text message each person to give our feedback."
Then everyone appears as holographic, 3-D human like avatars or virtual people, sitting at a conference table and each able to interact with each other verbally but moreover, interact fast and immediately by the use of TEXTING and using emoticons to emphasize points of clarity.
This new form of communication will thus replace face to face conversations and go beyond the current level of chats and social media sites currently being employed. The future is going to be much more like this and I am both excited and apprehensive about it.
There will be more Future Shock in those soon to be virtual reality days. There will be many opposed to this technology but there may be no way to stop it from happening. It is already on the horizon.
Here is one link to look at the link below. You may find it merely a fantastic concept and nothing more.
There are many current articles on the subject of Virtual Reality in the work place and in social media. Just do a Google Search and find out more.
Development of futuristic virtual reality technologies has been ramping up. Microsoft's holoportation technology has many uses for virtual reality meetings.

At a very fast pace. We may live to see changes that even rival recent science fiction and baffle the current mindset.

I think virtual business meetings are great because a person doesn't have to travel to the meeting. It saves on gas and saves on the time it takes to travel.

@lookatdesktop You make a good point. I hadn't thought of that.

There might be a problem if for one thing, a person in the virtual meeting is a phony. For example, as people often use false identity online in social media, one might expect there will be ways a person can enter a meeting under false pretenses and thus use this method of deception to destroy a company or steel secrets. I know this is far fetched, but in all honesty, there might be some who would use masks that would generate a false persona while engaged in business dealings and not be entitled to it.

It is the trend, and the world becomes just global community with all the access to modern communications technology. There is less human to human interaction which has some negative aspects also.

Yes, in some ways it seems a bit fake but to make matters worse, people might develop an attitutde of laziness.
