I have been thinking for a long time why there are various categories with the profession of teaching. The acting of teaching and the act of Lecturing both are important and should be viewed from different platforms. The teacher is one who teaches the students within the purview of their understand and has to confine his teaching to the limited sphere that is given and meant for in the syllabus. He should observe whether they are understanding his teaching and responding properly or not. But, the profession of a lecturer is totally different. He gives as much information on a particular topic as possible unmindful of the fact of it being grasped by the students. He skips the basic and it is for the students who should make themselves strong with the basics and fundamentals. The scope and area of information for a Lecturer is wide. It is always the responsibility of students to refer the books and understand the subject taken up by a lecturer. It is always open for students to approach a lecturer and ask for clarification on their doubts. Now can you tell me whose job is a more responsible one?
